CALL FOR PROJECTS
The coalition of Washington Maritime Blue, Pacific Northwest National Lab, CleanTech Alliance, Aerospace Futures Alliance, CHARGE and JCDREAM is requesting information on construction and non-construction projects pertaining to the decarbonization of heavy-duty transportation in the Pacific Northwest (e.g. hydrogen, renewably generated e-fuels, battery technology.) Project information may be used in a proposal to be submitted by the coalition to the Economic Development Administration (EDA) on or before October 19, 2021. If successful, the coalition would receive a $500,000 planning grant to help further develop these projects in Phase 1. If successful in Phase 2, the coalition could receive up to $100 million to fund a collection of 3-8 complementary and aligned projects.
In addition to this EDA grant, we are also preparing for the regional hydrogen hub opportunity potentially coming through the Federal Infrastructure Bill. This is up to a $2 billion opportunity over 4 years. Responses to this form will also be considered for that effort.
This call for projects is an effort to be sure that the coalition knows of all of the potential projects in the region that could be complementary in the development of our upcoming proposal. We will evaluate these projects based on their fit with the EDA's investment priorities and fit with the coalition's goals.
Projects should work to address one or more of the following challenges as they specifically relate to the decarbonization of heavy-duty transportation in the Pacific Northwest:
- Economic development planning or implementation projects that support workforce education and skills training activities directly connected to the hiring and skills needs of the business community and that result in well-paying, quality jobs
- Economic development planning or implementation projects that foster regional knowledge ecosystems that support entrepreneurs and startups, including the commercialization of new technologies that are creating technology-driven businesses and high-skilled, well-paying jobs of the future
- Economic development planning or implementation projects that advance equity across America through investments that directly benefit one or more traditionally underserved populations, geographies, and rural areas with demonstrated, historical underservice (e.g. coal communities, Opportunity Zones)
- Long-term strategic planning or implementation projects related to supply chain and economic resiliency in the Pacific Northwest region
Please use the form below to tell us about your projects no later than October 1st, 2021.
